Readers Write: Jeopardy responds to erroneous ‘Jeopardy’ Museum Row clue

I write regarding an answer that was featured on the June 3, 2022 edition of “Jeopardy!” which read: “Type of institution that has a ‘row’ in Garden City on Long Island, including one about firefighting and a children’s one.” The correct response: “What is a museum?”

Unfortunately, none of the contestants on Friday’s program came up with the correct response. That may be in part perhaps because Museum Row is not, in fact, located in Garden City – it is situated within the hamlet of Uniondale – a community that I proudly represent as a Nassau County Legislator.

Athttps://www2.census.gov/geo/maps/DC2020/DC20BLK/st36_ny/cousub/cs3605934000_hempstead/DC20BLK_CS3605934000.pdf, you will find the U.S. Census maps which clearly place Museum Row within the metes and bounds of Uniondale.

For many years, Uniondale community leaders have fought to ensure their hometown receives the full recognition that it deserves from government and media organizations.

Guided by a shared desire “to make Uniondale whole,” they and the hamlet’s elected officials engage in sustained advocacy to ensure regional attractions such as Museum Row are not erroneously attributed to neighboring communities.

Please take special care moving forward to accurately identify the hamlet in future programs.
