You can be from either party – and you can mouth off all the partisan nonsense you want – but the bare political fact is that New York state has operated best when neither party has control of the three branches of government OR both houses of the Legislature and governor’s office.
Unless you are pleased with uncontrolled murder, mayhem, looting, rape, thievery, thuggery and every manner of debasement in our state’s cities – and spreading to many suburbs – you have one last chance to save our state from complete fiscal and societal oblivion.
While it is quite possible that taxpayers’ obvious rage might bring a Republican to the governor’s office, I submit that the most likely check on the leftist monopoly in New York is the return of the state Senate to Republican control.
So now let’s address the 7th Senate District. Notice how in the Great Neck News of April 1, 2022, that Anna Kaplan tries to obscure the issue that every breathing person is obsessed with: the release of recidivist hooligans, marauders and murderers – including cop killers – by virtue of her participation and full support of the no-bail laws and a governor’s office possessed of a view of some kind of killers’ “redemption.” She placed Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins and Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie ahead of all of us.
She hits you with Skelos, abortion (abortion will be illegal in New York state when Anna Kaplan grows hair on her palms), campaign literature et al —— everything but what is now and will drive state elections in 2022: the no-bail laws.
Jack Martins is a decent, honorable man who served us far better than his predecessor and his successor. Bring him back and all Republican state senators back to Albany.
