I was extremely wary of what President Biden could accomplish during his four years in office. However, I was surprised at how quickly and how much he has done. It only took a little over a year for him to undo everything President Trump put in place.
The United States went from being energy independent to energy dependent, from being an energy exporter to energy importer. Tens of thousands of high-paying jobs disappeared on his first day of office with the signature of his pen when he cancelled the Keystone pipeline. President Biden then agreed to the Nord Stream 2 pipeline that will transport oil from Russia to Germany. We even import oil from Russia, helping to pay for Putin’s war against Ukraine, approximately 600,000 barrels of oil a day that transfers to Putin’s war machine over $66 million per day or almost $2 trillion a month. Canada has offered to replace this oil, but Biden turned them down. Even now, Biden is on his knees begging Nicholas Maduro, the Dictator of Venezuela, or the mullahs of Iran for oil.
The United States went from having a secure southern border to an open porous one. Last month over 200,000 illegal immigrants tried to storm into the country. Of course, while so many Americans have to wear masks and are required to keep taking COVID shots, these illegal immigrants are not subject to these same draconian rules. They are not tested or required to have shots. In fact, they are flown in the dead of night to various cities, including Westchester County, where they are then put on buses and dropped off to parts unknown. Crime is at the highest levels in decades, illegal drugs pour in at ever increasing rates and drug overdoses are at an all time high.
Inflation is running out of control, increasing from 1.4 percent when Biden took office and last month hit 8.5 percent, the highest in 40 years. However, these numbers do not tell the whole story. The price for food has exceeded 10 percent, and if you are Kosher then it is even higher. The price at the gas station has almost doubled since Biden took office. Across the country, individuals have started putting up small signs on gas pumps with his picture on it saying, “I did that.”
Electricity prices have also dramatically gone up, and I just received my budget bill from National Grid which is now 20 percent higher than before. Bidenflation is spiraling out of control and will undoubtedly get worse. Mortgage interest rates have almost doubled recently and seem certain to go even higher. It is only a matter of time until houses are priced out of the reach of so many individuals. GDP for the first quarter of 2022 was just announced as minus 1.4 percent. Welcome to the stagflation world of the Biden presidency.
The news on the international front is even worse. Russia has invaded Ukraine, killing thousands of innocent men, women and children. Whole towns have been wiped off the map. Millions have fled the country. Communist China daily flies military jets over Taiwan threatening their air space and independence. The mullahs of Iran threaten Israel constantly with nuclear annihilation and all Biden wants to do is to sign a new treaty with them.
The debacle of our withdrawal from Afghanistan in the middle of the night, which left over $80 billion of the most sophisticated weapons there, the loss of 13 brave American soldiers and for over 250 days has left countless Americans behind enemy lines. North Korea’s dictator is continually launching new missiles and testing new weapon prototypes. As Secretary Robert Gates said, “President Biden has been wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades.”
President Obama also said, “Don’t underestimate Joe’s ability to (expletive) things up.” Somewhere President Carter is smiling since he is no longer considered the worst President the United States has ever had!
