Town of North Hempstead Supervisor Judi Bosworth attended Weber Middle School’s Activism and Protest; Courage and Song Day on Oct. 25.

The event provided students with an interactive way of learning about the Civil Rights movement. As part of their activities, students were able to move around to different stations.

One of the stations allowed them to watch North Hempstead’s documentary, “Defining Moments: The Civil Rights Movement in North Hempstead.” They also had the opportunity to speak with activists Hazel Dukes and Bernice Sims who were featured in the film.
