Charlotte Parker, a Port Washington 5th grader, just won a statewide essay contest on the stock market.
Beating out some 1,700 elementary schoolers from across New York, Charlotte demonstrated extraordinary analytical ability in an essay summing up her experience in an investing game offered to gifted students from Montauk to Buffalo to Plattsburg.
This came just one day after Charlotte graduated from John J. Daly Elementary School. She’ll start middle school in September.
