Town of North Hempstead officials recently attended the Milan Seniors’ Annual Diwali Celebration on at the Nanking Restaurant in New Hyde Park.
The town officials presented the Milan Seniors with a Proclamation of Recognition in honor of their Diwali celebration. Diwali, an annual five day celebration, is the Hindu festival of lights celebrated all over the world.
The Milan Senior Program was created in 2009 for seniors of South Asian descent. The program is held on Fridays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Clinton G. Martin Park, except the third Friday of every month which is held at Michael J. Tully Park. For more information please call 516-869-6311.
