Assemblyman Anthony D’Urso recently attended a fundraiser held for Dr. Edwin Moreano’s foundation. Moreano is a plastic surgeon who founded the Medical Mission Middle of the World Foundation and, since 1999, has traveled to low-income areas of the world providing free reconstructive surgeries to children who were born with deformities or suffered burns.
D’Urso, in turn, told Moreano about his missions. He has been going to Haiti since the Jan. 12, 2010 earthquake that destroyed many homes and killed thousands. During his many missions, he built an orphanage, a school and provided school supplies for the children. D’Urso is also known for his humanitarian work in Africa.
