Birds of South Florida, topic of the next Audubon presentation

Snowy Egret, a beautifully plumaged wading bird

The North Shore Audubon Society will host a presentation by Scott Stoner and Denise Hackert-Stoner on “Birding South Florida” on Tuesday, April 23, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Manhasset Public Library, 30 Onderdonk Ave. in Manhasset.

From its sandy beaches and cypress swamps, to its city parks and the magnificent grassy river of the Everglades, south Florida continues to be a major destination for birds and birders. Hawks, songbirds, and waterfowl abound, not to be outdone by a wonderful array of wading and shore birds.

Support local journalism by subscribing to your Blank Slate Media community newspaper for just $50 a year.

Join the talk as the Stoners explore some of the hottest of south Florida’s birding hotspots.
