The Art League of Long island will be hosting a VIP ceramics workshop on Saturday, Aug. 3 and Sunday, Aug. 4 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. The workshop, which will be held with Diane Sullivan, is a ceramics sculpture workshop called “What dreams are in your head!”
Those interested in attending should bring a sketchbook with them, along with an open mind. While learning easy hand building techniques, you will create a small head and will incorporate your dreams and fantasies. Surface using slips, underglaze and dry clay powders will be explored. This is a chance to learn techniques, go deep, and feel comfortable with expressing your dreams. Some clay experience helpful, but not necessary.
Questions to ponder before the workshop: in dreams; are you a super hero, an animal, flying around? When people see you, what do they see? How do you want to be seen?
