Congratulations to the Great Neck News for its exemplary coverage of the Academy Gardens dispute and thus preventing it from slipping quietly into oblivion.
I don’t know if the demolition of the complex to be replaced with luxury condos is legal or morally justified. But wouldn’t it be nice if the comfortable spiritual leaders of the churches and synagogues in our affluent community would abandon their silence and take an active interest in what may happen to the people of color who currently live there?
