Why didn’t I think of this before?
Village of Great Neck Trustee Ann Mendelson’s husband writes letters to the Great Neck News disparaging the decision made on part of Great Neck Public Schools to pave a new parking lot near their home that will ultimately destroy their home’s view and potentially property value. Â
Mendelson writes about the unfair lack of due process by the Board of Education in deciding to build a student parking lot, paving over what is now grass. He’s griped about this unfair situation in several letters to editor published in the Great Neck News. Â
So what does wife and Village of Great Neck trustee, Ann, do for revenge? She quietly sides with Mayor Bral in a bold move she knows and her husband knows will harm the public school system and the entire community.Â
Is everything that’s gone wrong in this village and the questionable decision making in this village based on an enormous vendetta and an inappropriate sense of entitlement?
And what of the remaining board members? The ones who fail to speak up, fail to question and sit there session after session in stony silence? Norman Namdar, Stephen Hope and Bart Sobel. Have they forgotten they were elected by the people for the people? In other words, they are supposed to serve us. Not Mayor Bral.
Will the real adults please step up?Â
Someone with maturity and a sense of decency must stop these individuals before they destroy the greater community, taking down innocent, tax-paying, hard-working families that moved here for the high-ranking public school system. Â Â

Vendetta? Is everyone aware about Judy Rosenthal’s vendetta against the Village of Great Neck with her constant complaints about LED lights? First they cause cancer, then low sperm count, etc etc. Does she realize without them we have low visibility and accidents? The LED lights are WONDERFUL. Judy – if the LED lights are so upsetting to you why not ask the Great Neck Schools to remove them from their classrooms and parking lots? Why not ask the Park District to remove them? Why not ask the library to remove them? What’s YOUR problem?
You’re so busy going to complain at Village meetings you don’t have time to go to Board of Education meetings, library meetings or park meetings. If you cared about the safety of people, adults and children, you would be against a parking lot that the Board has not provided any evidence that there is a need for.
We the public see through you Judy: you just want to complain about the Village. Great Neck News, please stop publishing her insulting commentary – it lowers the quality of your paper.
