I am really puzzled when I hear people telling me how they admire the way Gov. Cuomo has handled the crisis of the coronavirus. I really do not understand that a governor who never got ready his state for an eventual pandemic, should ever be admired.

In 2015, health experts told Cuomo that the state of New York was not ready at all for a pandemic and was offered to purchase 16,000 ventilators that he irresponsibly refused.

Instead, he invested 750 million dollars of New York taxpayers in a solar panel company that went bankrupt! What would have been much more important for our survival the ventilators or solar panels?

Mind you when I heard at first Gov. Cuomo Speaks on television at the start of the pandemic, I really felt that he was calm, articulate and informative. I thought he was doing a great job, especially that I knew that he had been governor of New York for about 10 years and really hadn’t accomplished very much for New Yorkers and that the state was not at all in a good financial shape due to his mismanagement.

After a few days of listening to his daily briefings, I realized that all Cuomo was doing was to try to put the blame on the Federal government and President Trump for not giving everything that he was demanding.

Meanwhile, he should have been the one that should have had his state ready for a pandemic. All he was good at doing was bullying other people for his lack of leadership. I feel he fas failed miserably to accomplish his role of the governor that he has been elected for.

I also need to address Cuomo’s complete failure to protect our elderly. I was shocked to hear not too long ago that nursing homes in New York had been obligated to accept people suffering with this horrible virus within their establishment.

When they tried to refuse because they were not at all equipped for such an undertaking, they were told that they did not have a choice. To complete this injury, master Cuomo refused to give them PPE ( gloves, masks,…..) because he told them they were private entities and he was not responsible for them.

The consequences of this irresponsible decision have been disastrous as we lost more than 5,000 nursing home residents in New York alone.

While nursing homes exist in all 50 states, sadly the deaths of these extremely vulnerable elderly persons in New York state represent 20 percent of the nation’s total death in nursing homes.

Honestly, it is a real disgrace! When a journalist asked Cuomo how come such decision could have even been considered, his answer was that he was not aware that it was happening and that he did not have an answer for him. What a lie!

Either the governor is a major liar or he is completely incompetent. Besides what I surely cannot understand is why on earth would the state forced nursing homes to accept Corona patients when

President Trump had done such an amazing job setting up hospitals all over New York City with thousands and thousands of beds and that most of them were not even occupied.

If my mom would have died in one of these nursing homes, you can be sure that I would sue the state of NY. It is amazing to me to hear what a great job Cuomo is doing! There were even more missteps such as telling the people of New York way too late that a lockdown was needed.

That lack of leadership ( compounded with the stupidity of Mayor de Blasio…..another story!), surely was one more reason that New York has a horrific death toll.

The one governor who has done an amazing job with his state and especially with his nursing homes (even though the lockdown was late too) is Gov. DeSantis but because he is Republican, Democrats and the liberal media do not even want to mention him.

If one would switch the name of Gov. Cuomo by the name of DeSantis, the latter would absolutely get clobbered and would need to resign immediately as governor.

There are about 27,000 deaths in New York State, which is the third of all deaths in the USA and some people would want me to believe that Cuomo has done a good job. This is honestly an insult to my intelligence.

I don’t know if Cuomo¹ admirers are really that naive or so misinformed or like usual playing politics and consequently 100 percent biased, but surely we are seeing nowadays something very wrong and very perturbing.

I worry people have lost all integrity and common sense because four years later, they still have not been able to accept the results of the 2016 election.
