We are writing to support the candidacy for re-election of two hard-working members of the Great Neck Board of Education – Larry Gross and Susan Healy.

At a time when the need is the greatest ever to exercise strong leadership in the management of our schools, the successes which Susan and Larry have achieved in working to maintain and improve Great Neck’s educational offering provide strong reasons for re-electing them to new school board terms.  

It is important to note that this has been done while maintaining firm financial control of expenditures and enhancing the district’s financial strength.  

Great Neck today is one of only 23 New York State government bodies which are top rated AAA by Moody’s Investors Service, out of 4,700 such governments.  

Further, Great Neck has significantly increased its revenues earned from sources, other than taxes, helping in a real way to reduce the burden on the taxpayers.

Our community can be proud of the enhanced national reputation of our schools and the success of our students when they leave here and move on to their college experiences.  

Our school board has found ways to continue all of the programs which are fashioned to enable all students to develop to the best of their ability and the offering of art, music, interscholastic and intramural sports and everything else which have been continued at a time when many districts are forced to cut back or eliminate such offerings.

We urge everyone to show their support for our school board and our district by voting for Larry Gross and Susan Healy on May 20.
