Man robbed Mineola gas station without gun: cops

Police are seeking a man whom they say robbed a Mineola gas station on Sunday.

The masked robber entered the Ultra gas station at 70 E. Jericho Turnpike at 9:25 p.m. Sunday and approached the clerk while pretending he had a gun in his pocket, police said.

The suspect, described as a white man, opened the cash register and took an undetermined amount of money, as well as some packs of cigarettes, police said.

The man fled east on Jericho Turnpike in a dark-colored SUV, police said. No one was hurt during the robbery.

The alleged robber was wearing a black-hooded jacket, blue jeans, white sneakers, a black ski mask and black gloves, police said.
