Two people who earlier this month stole jewelry from the home of a Roslyn Heights woman were arrested on Sunday along with a man with whom they tried to trade the jewels for drugs, police said.
Nassau County Police said Jay Capodiferro, 29, of Roslyn Heights, also stalked and harassed the victim before he and Janine Devlin, 29, of Albertson, stole jewelry from the woman’s home on Aug. 11.
On Sunday, the two were arrested while attempting to swap the jewelry to Stephen Devita, 29, of Mineola, in exchange for drugs, police said.
Police said Devita had in his possession several opiate pills, approximately 11 grams of heroin and various pieces of jewelry that were later returned to the victim.
Capodiferro was charged with two counts of petit larceny and counts of third-degree stalking and second-degree aggravated harassment, police said.
Devlin was charged with petit larceny, police said, and Devita was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Capodiferro and Devita were arraigned on Monday in First District Court in Hempstead. Devlin, who police said was released on a desk appearance ticket, will be arraigned on Sept. 2.
