Aaron Halpern for Village of Thomaston trustee

Dear fellow residents of the Village of Thomaston,

I seek your support of my candidacy for a Trustee Position on the Village of Thomaston Board of Trustees at the upcoming March 15 Village Election.

My wife Wendy and I have been Thomaston residents for more than 16 years, and we and our two children are proud and active members of the Village of Thomaston and Great Neck Communities. I believe that my background as a lawyer and my experience of advocating for people and our community make me uniquely qualified for this position.

If elected, I promise to be an active and involved Trustee who at all times will demonstrate, emphasize, and advocate for transparency, fairness, financial responsibility, and community awareness and participation.  I graduated from McGill University with distinction and earned a law degree from Tulane University School of Law.

As a practicing attorney for nearly 20 years, including at my current role as a partner at the Jacob Fuchsberg Law Firm in New York City and previously at the Long Island law firms of Farrell Fritz and Nixon Peabody, I advocate for individuals and small businesses while always demonstrating strong ethics and morals.  To that end, I am one of the community leaders who investigated and opposed the underlying dealings by the Mayor which led to the enactment of the “Incentive Law” and the related application for the now withdrawn Tower Ford project.

I supported the lawsuit that was commenced by several Village residents to rescind the “Incentive Law,” and was a strong supporter and advocate for Landmark Designation for the Tower Ford Building.  Since August 2021, I have attended and spoke on behalf of the community at nearly every Village Board of Trustees meeting and hearing, and have become very knowledgeable of the Village Code and other Village operations.

If elected, I pledge to listen to the voices and interests of the community, and stand up to those who seek to undermine the community and environment that we all value and enjoy.  I will also work to enhance the quality of life of our residents and community while exercising fiscal responsibility.

Please contact me at 516-993-7383 or via email at  aaron.halpern@yahoo.com if you have any questions or would like to discuss my candidacy.  I look forward to receiving your support on March 15.

Thank you.
