A 10-year-old Searingtown girl is in the hospital this week after a car struck her in Mineola Feb. 27.
A Toyota Prius hit the girl at 11:30 p.m. last Saturday after she ran across the street while crossing at Westbury Avenue and Denton Avenue with her family, Nassau County police said.
She suffered a traumatic brain injury and was taken to a local hospital, where she was listed in critical condition as of Monday, police said.
Police inspected the vehicle at the scene of the accident and have so far found no criminality. An investigation is ongoing.
