
Police are seeking a 25-year-old man for the stabbing of another man last Saturday outside El Madera Bar in Mineola.
The victim and suspect got into a fight after the suspect, who was unknown to the victim, made a rude comment about the victim’s girlfriend as the two were leaving the bar at 247 Mineola Blvd., police said.
The two engaged in a shoving match, ending with the victim being stabbed by an unknown sharp object, police said.
The suspect was described as a male Hispanic wearing a red shirt.
Following the incident, he escaped the scene by foot as he headed southbound on Mineola, according to police.
The victim was brought to a local hospital to be treated for the stabbing on the side of his body. His injury was called non-life threatening.
