A Mineola man was arrested in Williston Park late last Thursday night after unsuccessfully attempting to rob a home in Mineola, Nassau County detectives said.
Detectives said Matthew Long, 18, of 149 Jackson Ave. in Mineola, climbed into a house on Fairfield Avenue in Mineola through a side window on Oct. 10 at 11:05 p.m.
Long was confronted by a 33-year-old woman in the house and he immediately fled the scene with no proceeds, police said.
Long surrendered to 3rd squad detectives and was charged with burglary second degree. He was arraigned at 1st District Court in Hempstead on Oct. 11.
