The Mineola High School varsity cheerleading squad visited third and fourth-grade students at Jackson Avenue School on Sept. 18 to lead a pre-homecoming pep rally celebration and introduce a school cheer. Varsity cheerleading coach and Jackson Avenue teacher Laura Kligman volunteered her team for the event, which was coordinated by the Jackson PTA to garner additional districtwide spirit for homecoming. The cheerleaders taught the students two new school cheers, complete with hand routines.
