A man escaped after an attempt to rob Citibank in Floral Park on Monday afternoon, Nassau County police reporter.
The alleged robber approached a teller and passed a note demanding money at 1 p.m., according to detectives.
The man fled from the bank northbound on Hinsdale Avenue without any stolen money, detectives said.
Police described the man as around 20-25 years old, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall and a thin build. He was wearing black sunglasses, a black jacket, a white shirt and a red tie at the time of the attempted robbery, according to police.
This is the first attempted robbery at this branch, according to a Nassau County Police Department spokesperson.
Requests to reach the Citibank branch were unavailing.
The investigation is ongoing, according to police.
