A New Hyde Park man was charged with multiple counts of graffiti on Thursday, according to the Nassau County Police Department.
Nassau County police arrested Edward Daly Jr., 34, after an ongoing investigation of a graffiti incident from Sept. 24, police say.
Patrol officers responded to a parking lot at 2054 Hillside Ave. after a 911 call notified them about the graffiti, back in September, according to detectives. At the location police say officers found the letters “JEKS” spray painted on the side of the building.
Jek is a term that refers to a Northeast Caucasian ethnic group in northern Azerbaijan.
Daly is responsible for the graffiti of “JEKS” on multiple locations in New Hyde Park, police say.
Daly is charged with two counts of making graffiti and two counts of criminal mischief in the fourth degree.
