Hibernian prez honored by Mangano at Hofstra

The President of the National Ancient Order of Hibernians received a citation from Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano for his body of work with the order. The citation was presented to President Brandon Moore on Sept. 15 at the Nassau County Ancient Order of Hibernian’s Annual Irish Feis and Festival held on the grounds of Hofstra University.

The Order seeks to aid the newly-arrived Irish, both socially and economically, and the many divisions and club facilities located throughout the U.S. have traditionally been among the first to welcome new Irish immigrants. Here, the Irish art, dance, music, sports and culture are fostered and preserved. The Order has also provided a continuing bridge with Ireland for those who are generations removed from their ancestral homeland.
