Fire department extracts man from car after crash in Port

Port Washington firefighters extracted a man from an overturned car after it crashed on Port Washington Boulevard on Friday.

The man was transported to a local hospital, but did not have life-threatening injuries, Port Washington Fire Department Chief Brian Vogeley said.

He was the only person in the car.

The Port Washington Fire Department responded to the accident in front of the post office at 1051 Port Washington Blvd. at about 11:10 a.m. and found the car overturned and a man inside, Vogeley said.

Firefighters and EMS officials extracted the man from the car.

Vogeley said he did not know what caused the crash
