A collision between a tractor trailer and a Mercedes sent a woman to the hospital on Sunday, Nassau County police said.
A 60-year-old man was attempting to turn left out of the driveway at 999 W. Shore Road, the address of the Town of North Hempstead’s Solid Waste Management Authority Transfer Station, when he hit a 2018 Mercedes Benz driven by a 78-year-old woman.
Police said the female driver, who has not been identified, suffered from multiple injuries and was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
