Ed board seeking audit committee volunteers

The Roslyn Board of Education seeks community volunteers to serve on the Citizens Advisory Audit Committee in 2013-14.

Support local journalism by subscribing to your Blank Slate Media community newspaper for just $50 a year.

If you are a Roslyn school district resident who is a qualified professional in the areas of finance, accounting or business, and wish to participate, please write to the board at boardofed@roslynschools.org by Monday, Aug. 26 or call the District Clerk at 801-5002 for more information.

The Citizens Audit Advisory Committee assists the board in providing oversight of the internal and external audit functions, including the appointment of the internal and external auditors, oversees the competitive request for proposal process used to solicit quotations for the district’s annual external audit, reviews the scope, plan and coordination of the external audit, reviews corrective action plans and necessary improvement based on audit findings and recommendations received from external and internal auditors, and provides a communications link between the external and internal auditors and the board.
