Along with updates on planned summer, Labor Day and Halloween celebrations, the East Hills board announced the return of its new residents’ brunch during a trustee meeting.
The village will host the brunch events on Nov. 6, 13 and 20. Residents who moved to the community during the last three years will be invited.
Mayor Michael Koblenz said the occasion gives newcomers a chance to learn about their community. He jokingly added it also allows for them to share both their complaints and compliments.
It will be the village’s first time hosting the event since before the Covid-19 pandemic. The board also shared information about more events happening before then.
An Endless Summer Celebration will be held in the village on Aug. 27 from noon to 4 p.m.
A juggler and stilt walker will perform around the village pool from 1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. A circus-like aerial spectacle will start at 1:30 p.m. There will also be food and games for children. The rain date will be Aug. 28.
On Sep. 3, East Hills will hold its Labor Day concert from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The band, Wonderous Stories, will be performing.
The village’s Halloween Spooktacular will be on Oct. 15, from noon to 4 p.m. There will be a special activity in which kids may interact with and learn from their favorite superheroes while adventuring on the village park trail. Oct. 27 is the make-up date.
The board’s next meeting will be on Sep. 22 at 5:30 p.m. at Village Hall.
Thanks for a great article. What time do I go on for the high wire?
Best, Bill Burton
