Herricks High School senior football player Gavin Dowd was named the Most Valuable Offensive Player of the NYSHSFCA Upstate vs. Downstate Football Classic.
This game showcases the best football players from New York State. Dowd was the starting center and dominated on the offensive line. He was a standout football player for Herricks High School this year, earning the honor of All-County Honorable Mention.
Dowd will go on to play Division II football in the fall at the University of New Haven. He is the son of Kevin and Beth Dowd and lives in Williston Park.
