Bike stunts at Denton

The students and staff of Denton Avenue School enjoyed a character education program that combined amazing bicycle stunts with inspirational messages. Chris Poulos, world champion cyclist, engaged the audience in an active discussion and “role play” to address the topics of bully prevention, being kind to others, trying your hardest and never giving up.

Students learned how Poulos developed his skills and rose to the top of his sport. The culminating bike stunt thrilled the audience as Poulos catapulted his bike over two of Denton’s bravest teachers, Mr. Michael Lesak, physical education teacher, and Mr. Emilio Gonzalez, fourth grade language immersion teacher.

The program was brought to Denton Avenue school with the help of the PTA Programming Committee and Mrs. Beth Rosenman.
