Three people were robbed on campus at the State University of New York at Old Westbury on Friday by a man who allegedly brandished a handgun in demanding what Nassau County police called a “hover board” vehicle.
The robbery took place on South Apple Road around 1:30 a.m., when police said the 20-year-old and two 19-year-olds were stopped by a black male who had been a passenger in a tan sport utility vehicle.
Police said the man exited the vehicle, displayed the handgun and demanded the hover board — which the victims then gave him — before fleeing in the SUV.
The man was described at six-feet tall and wearing a gold “grill” on his bottom teeth and a red, white and gray sweater.
No injuries were reported.
