Adelphi to host health care talk

The Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Program is presenting the seminar, “Know Your Rights as a Health Care Consumer” on Wednesday, Nov. 20. The event will have experts Tom Maligno, an attorney who is the executive director of the William Randolph Hearst Public Advocacy Center and director of pro bono and public interest at Touro College, and Denise Snow, an attorney in the Permanency Legal Assistance Needs project at Nassau/Suffolk Law Services Committee, Inc.

Topics to be covered include short and long-term disability, medical bills and medical debt and health insurance denials, among others.

The seminar is at 7 p.m. at Adelphi’s Alumni House, 154 Cambridge Ave., Garden City. It is free and open to the public. Reservations are required and can be made by calling (516) 877-4325.
