Many words were spoken on Memorial Day weekend. Some words were better suited for Veterans Day than Memorial Day.
Memorial Day is only 6 1/2 hours long from 5:30 a.m. until noon when the flag is raised to full staff. Veterans Day is the other 364 days.
VFW Post 8051 Commander Smolenski said it short and to the point in only two sentences: “They have fought a good fight, they have finished their course, they have kept their faith. Let not the ravages of time,dim the remembrance of their supreme sacrifice.”
