Floral Park’s elections for the Board of Trustees next Tuesday will feature two seats that are uncontested.

Michael Longobardi and Trustee Jennifer Stewart are running unopposed on the Citizens’ Party line.

Stewart, a lifelong resident of the village, is seeking election for the first time. She was appointed last March to fill the remainder of Kevin Fitzgerald’s term, which was left vacant upon his election as mayor.

Stewart is the liaison to the Floral Park Pool, Library and North End Civic Association, where she serves on the board. She is a special education teacher at the David Paterson School in Hempstead.

Longobardi is running for the seat left vacant by Trustee Archie Cheng, who is not seeking re-election.

Longobardi has been a member of the Floral Park Fire Department as a volunteer for 31 years. He has risen through the ranks as high as chief, a position he held previously. In addition, Longobardi has served as chairman of the Village Fire Safety Program, training committee, by-law committee and department fundraising committee. Outside the department, he is a public accountant and has been involved with recreational programs and school associations.

Voting will take place from noon to 9 p.m. and polling locations are based on the election district that residents live in.

According to the village website,  district one polling will take place at the Reliance Firehouse just off Jericho Turnpike on Holland Ave.; districts two and three will hold voting at the recreation/pool building and district four will take place at the Atlantic Avenue Firehouse between Spruce and Pine Avenue.

In New Hyde Park, no election is taking place this year.
