A Queens man has been charged Thursday in connection with an August shooting at the LA Fitness basketball court on Marcus Avenue in New Hyde Park.
On Aug. 1, 2022, a gunshot was fired shortly after 9 p.m., police said. A large group of bystanders was located outside the building and individuals were running out of the fitness center upon police arrival.
Police retrieved one shell casing they found inside the basketball court. No one was injured nor were any arrests made at the time.
Police have charged Orane Davis, 25, with attempted murder in the second degree, attempted assault in the first degree and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree.
