NHP man assaulted officers in GCP drugstore: police

A New Hyde Park man was arrested after allegedly assaulting an officer in a Garden City Park Walgreens on Wednesday at 1 p.m., Nassau County police said.

Giovanny Bien-Aime, 27, was “trespassing” in the drugstore and allegedly resisted arrest by “flailing his arms and kicking his legs,” police said.

One officer was sent to an area hospital after suffering a right shoulder sprain, police said.

Bien-Aime attempted to push past an officer causing the officer to fall to the ground, police said.

Bien-Aime was placed under arrest and transported to an area hospital for further evaluation, police said. He will be arraigned when medically practical, police said.

A police spokeswoman said police are not releasing details on Bien-Aime’s specific medical condition or why he was taken to the hospital.

Bien-Aime is charged with second-degree assault, resting arrest, second degree obstructing governmental administration and trespass.
