Nassau County police are seeking a man who robbed and assaulted a clerk early last Friday at the Floral Park Motel.
The robber, described as a black man standing about 5-foot-8, entered the motel at 30 Jericho Turnpike at 2:28 a.m. Jan. 20 and demanded cash from the 48-year-old woman at the front desk, saying he had a gun, police said.
He grabbed the clerk by the hair and again demanded to know where the money was, she said.
The woman pointed to a top desk drawer, from which the robber took an undisclosed amount of cash before leaving and running west on Jericho Turnpike, police said.
The robber was between 30 and 35 years old with a stocky build and wore a black hooded jacked, a dark hooded sweatshirt, light colored pants and gray sneakers, police said.
