Construction for Marshall Avenue between Covert Avenue and Orchid Street is currently underway, according to a release from the Village of Floral Park.
The work, beginning last week, is a total reconstruction that includes new curbing, drainage gutters, driveway aprons, drainage basins and a new asphalt roadway.
Work is expected to be finished by mid-August, weather permitting.
The Spooner Street parking lot and sections of Spooner and Hinsdale Avenue were set to begin construction in the last week of June but is now pushed to August at the earliest after the rescinding of a bid, according to Trustee Lynn Pombonyo. The area is part of the 2022 road improvement program.
Due to gas main replacements, parts of Orchid Street and Marshall avenue are slated to get resurfaced along with Hill Street, Fern Street and Revere Drive East.
