Employees of New Hyde Park and Mineola service stations were caught selling nicotine, alcohol and THC to underage customers, police said.
An investigation by Problem Oriented Police, the Nassau County Narcotics Squad and Third Squad Detectives discovered multiple establishments not asking for proper identification.
Harjinder Singh, 50, of Astoria was issued two appearance tickets in court for selling alcohol to an underage customer at 76 Gas Station on 549 W. Jericho Turnpike in Mineola, the authorities said.
Ajwad Chowdhury, 22, of Uniondale, was issued two appearance tickets for selling a nicotine product to an underage customer at Evolve Smoke Shop at 234 W. Jericho Turnpike in Mineola, according to the authorities.
Pankajkumar Shah, 61, of Syosset, was charged with selling both nicotine and a THC product to an underage customer at Ultra Mini Mart at 1501 Jericho Turnpike, New Hyde Park, police said. Officers also seized 90 THC products and $777.
Shah was charged with the sale of tobacco product to a person under the age of 21 years old, unlawfully dealing with a child, two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal sale of a controlled substance, the authorities said.
