A man and a woman were arrested early Tuesday morning on grand larceny charges for alleged vehicle break-ins in Flower Hill, but one male suspect was still at large.
According to the Nassau County Police, a Flower Hill resident reported three adults to the police for entering into parked cars on Mason Drive just before 2 a.m. Tuesday morning. Police said credit cards were taken inside of the parked vehicle before the three fled the scene on foot.
Two of the suspected adults – Tammy Sandoval, 22, and Logan Jones, 20 – were then found at the Manhasset Long Island Rail Road station parking lot, police said, not long after the incident was reported. Police said they were arrested without incident.
After investigating, police said that what was believed to be crack cocaine was found in Jones’ possession.
Sandoval and Jones were charged with grand larceny and attempted grand larceny. Jones was also charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, police said.
Both Sandoval and Jones pleaded not guilty to all the charges in Nassau County First District Court Tuesday and were released on bail with non-monetary conditions. Sandoval is scheduled to appear in court again Feb. 27 and Jones is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 23.
The third suspect, who police described as an adult man, has not been located by police.
Police said the investigation was still ongoing.
