PUBLIC NOTICE: REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL FOR TRANSPORTATION OF PUPILS FOR THE 2023-2024 SCHOOL YEAR

PUBLIC NOTICE  REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL FOR TRANSPORTATION OF PUPILS FOR THE 2023-2024 SCHOOL YEAR  Manhasset Union Free School District 200 Memorial Place Manhasset, New York 11030  The Board of Education of the Manhasset Union Free School District hereby invites sealed proposals for the provision of transportation for the 2023-2024 school year for each of the following contracts: (1) Home-to-School/School-to-Home Transportation with district provided fuel for In-District and Out-of-District Public, Private, Parochial and Special Education Schools; (2) Field and Athletic Trip Transportation, and (3) Summer Transportation- Contractor provided fuel.  The Request for Proposal documents and specifications may be obtained from the School Districtís Business Office located at the Central Office at 200 Memorial Place, Manhasset, NY 11030.  Sealed proposals shall be delivered to the School Districtís Business Office to the attention of Mary Callahan, Interim Assistant Superintendent for Business and Finance, at 200 Memorial Place, Manhasset, NY 11030 and shall be clearly marked ìPupil Transportation Proposal ñ Do Not Open Until 11:00 a.m. on April 28, 2023î.  Such proposals will be received until 11:00 a.m. on April 28, 2023, in the Business Office at which time and place all proposals will be publicly acknowledged. The Board of Education reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to reject any and all proposals, waive any informalities in proposals and to negotiate any portion of any proposal, as set forth in the Request for Proposal.  Proposals for each transportation contract will be evaluated and awarded by the School District based on the following criteria and weightings, in accordance with Sections 305 and 3625 of the Education Law and Section 156.12 of the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education, together with all other applicable laws, rules, regulations and ordinances.    Criteria  Weight 1  Previous experience of the Proposer in transporting pupils  15 2  The name of each transportation company that shares any common 10 ownership with the Proposer, and evaluation of management in the performance of contracts 3  A description of any safety programs implemented by the Proposer  10 4  Record of accidents in motor vehicles under the control of the 10 Proposer for the past three (3) years 5  Driving History of employees of the Proposer  5 6   NYS DOT Inspection records and model year of the motor vehicles 10 under the control of the Proposer 7  Maintenance schedule of the motor vehicles under the control of the 8 Proposer.  Condition or maintenance and dispatch facilities 8  Financial analysis of Proposer  5 9  Documentation of compliance with Motor Vehicle Insurance 2 requirements 10  Total cost of the Proposal  25 TOTAL  100  Security in the form of a bond or certified check in the amount of ten (10) percent of the annual amount of each contract is required to be submitted with a proposal.  A performance and payment bond in a sum of 100% of the annual amount of the contracts may be required as set forth in the Request for Proposal.  Board of Education Manhasset Union Free School District
