VILLAGE OF FLORAL PARK LEGAL NOTICEAt the Board of Trustees meeting held on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, the Village Board of Trustees adopted Resolution No. 2024-36 as follows:WHEREAS, pending voter approval at a referendum to be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2025, the Service Award Program shall be amended so as to increase the amount to be credited to the account of a participating volunteer firefighter who earns credit under the point system to $1200 effective January 1, 2025; and That in accordance with pertinent provisions of the Village Law, the Election Law and Municipal Home Rule Law, the Mayor and Board of Trustees hereby approve that a referendum, entitled “Proposition 1,” shall be placed on the ballot for the Village Election to be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, between the hours of 12:00 noon and 9:00 pm with polling places to be located at Election District #1 Reliance Firehouse; Election District #2 Rec/Pool Building; Election District #3 Rec/Pool Building and Election District #4 Atlantic Ave Firehouse; andThat the Village Clerk be, and hereby is, authorized to take all actions necessary to lawfully submit this Resolution for the approval or disapproval of the qualified electors of the Incorporated Village of Floral Park on the 19th day of March 2024, between the hours of 12:00 noon and 9:00 pm; andBE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Proposition to be voted upon shall read as follows:“Shall the Resolution adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Incorporated Village of Floral Park on the 20th day of February, 2024, to amend the Service Award Program for Active Volunteer Firefighters of the Floral Park Fire Department such that the annual contributions for such volunteer firefighters shall be increased from $700 per annum to $1200 effective January 1, 2025, be approved?”Such program consists of a defined contribution plan as a Service Award, with an estimated total annual program cost for 2025 of $99,600 per annum.BY ORDER OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEESVILLAGE OF FLORAL PARKSusan E.
