GNPS/TV current programs

Programs currently airing on Great Neck Public Schools Television are South Middle Cultural Heritage Celebration, District Spotlight, “By Leaps and Bounds” Community Forum, and Focus on Education.

GNPS/TV programs are available on demand, 24/7, on the school district website, www.greatneck.k12.ny.us/tv. Programs can also be viewed in the incorporated villages of Great Neck on Optimum Channel 75 and on Verizon Fios Channel 32. Airing times in program descriptions below are for Optimum and Verizon viewing.

South Middle Cultural Heritage Celebration

South Middle’s annual Cultural Heritage Celebration showcases the cultural mosaic of the school community through dances, songs, and presentations. Tune in to GNPS/TV to enjoy student performances of the Chinese YoYo, Lion Dance, Ribbon Dance, Korean Fan Dance, Hispanic Dance, Indian Dance, K-POP, Korean Drums, and more. South Middle Cultural Heritage Celebration airs at 7:30 and 11:30 a.m., and 3:30 and 7:30 p.m.

District Spotlight

District Spotlight features news, sports, and events from across the District in a lively, magazine-style format. This edition includes a plaque dedication by the Great Neck Historical Society at the Phipps Administration Building, highlights from the annual Shared Decision Making event with guest speaker Dr. Manny Scott, an overview of the Great Neck Community Education program, and more. District Spotlight airs at 9 a.m., and 1, 5, and 9 p.m.

“By Leaps and Bounds” Community Forum

On Feb. 29, the Great Neck Public Schools proudly hosted a community forum titled, “By Leaps and Bounds: Great Neck’s Leadership in Educating Against Antisemitism and All Forms of Hate.” This special event showcased the District’s efforts to build understanding and acceptance through education. Board trustees, administrators, teachers, students, and families from across the District were joined by elected officials for a gallery walk through informational tables and multimedia presentations highlighting school programs and community partnerships, including Responsive Classroom, Holocaust education, and anti-hate initiatives. By Leaps and Bounds airs at 10:30 a.m., and 2:30, 6:30, and 10:30 p.m.

Focus on Education

Focus on Education is an ongoing series hosted by Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kenneth R. Bossert, highlighting what’s new and interesting in the District. This episode features a conversation with Brendan Nelson, Assistant Principal at North Middle School. Focus on Education airs at 10 a.m., and 2, 6, and 10 p.m.

GNPS/TV Programming
