G.N. South ranked No. 2 public high school in Nassau

Seven public high schools on the North Shore were ranked in the top 10 for Nassau County, according to Niche. 

Great Neck South High School led local schools with a No. 2 ranking, behind only Jericho Senior High School.

Other public high schools to receive high rankings include Roslyn High School (No. 4) Manhasset Secondary School (No. 5), Herricks High School (No. 6), Great Neck North High School (No. 7), The Wheatley School in East Williston (No. 8) and Paul D. Schreiber High School in Port Washington (No. 10). 

For Niche’s state public school rankings, North Shore schools that earned top 20 designation included Great Neck South (No. 6), Roslyn High (No. 10), Manhasset (No. 11), Herricks (No. 14) and Great Neck North (No. 18). 

Niche is a site where places to live, graduate schools, colleges, K-12 schools, and scholarships are ranked. The site uses data scientists to analyze a variety of factors and statistics to make lists each year. Factors taken into account while making the rankings include academics, teachers, clubs and activities, diversity, college preparation courses, and health and safety.

Additional rankings include New Hyde Park Memorial High School (No. 28), Floral Park Memorial High School (No. 37), Mineola High School (No. 44), Sewanhaka High School (No. 45) and Village School in Great Neck (No. 49).
