Four villages in Great Neck – Great Neck, Kings Point, Russell Gardens and Lake Success – will be holding elections on June 20, with all seats uncontested as the incumbents seek another term.

Village of Great Neck Mayor Pedram Bral, Trustees Anne Mendelson and Steven Hope are all running for re-election.

After defeating former Mayor Ralph Kreitzman in 2015, Bral faced challengers in his 2017 and 2019 re-election campaigns. He most recently won an uncontested election in 2021, receiving 939 votes.

Mendelson said in an email to Blank Slate that the three incumbents have achieved a wealth of accomplishments for the village during their tenure, including a balanced budget, ongoing updates for efficiency and security for the village’s IT and computer system, digitization of village records and business revitalization.

Efforts to contact Bral and Hope were unavailing.

The Village of Great Neck election will be held from 7 a.m. – 9 p.m. June 20 at the Great Neck House, located at 14 Arrandale Ave.

Village of Kings Point Trustees Hooshang Nematzadeh and Ira Nesenoff are both unchallenged in their respective quests for another two years on the village’s Board of Trustees.

Nematzadeh has served on the board since 2012 and is the board’s deputy mayor. He has lived in Kings Point for almost 20 years and has served on the village’s planning board.

The president of Nemat Homes Inc., Nematzadeh is a member of the Great Neck Chamber of Commerce and is the former executive vice president of the Iranian American Jewish Federation of New York and the United Mashadi Jewish Community of America.

He said as an immigrant to the United States, he cherishes democracy and assumes an obligation to do what he can to uphold it and serve the community.

Nematzadeh said his goal as deputy mayor is to uphold the quality of life in Kings Point, raise revenues, cut expenses and make sure the board is as efficient as possible. He said the board has been effective in working together to achieve these common goals.

He said he is running for re-election because he wants to continue serving the community.

Nesenoff has been a resident of Kings Point for more than two decades and has served on the village’s zoning board for roughly the same amount of time.

Nesenoff is a managing partner of Nesenoff & Miltenberg law firm, handling real estate litigation and other matters based out of New York City.

Efforts to contact Nesenoff were unavailing.

The election will take place at Village Hall, 32 Stepping Stone Lane, from 12-9 p.m.

Village of Russell Gardens Mayor David Miller is running unopposed to retain his position on June 20.

Miller is the lone member of the Russell Gardens Board of Trustees up for election this year. In 2019, he entered the race as the acting mayor after his predecessor, Steven Kirshner, moved out of the village.

He will be running for a four-year term as mayor following a 2019 vote by the village board that extended the terms from two years to four years. This is the first time a Russell Gardens mayor will run for a four-year term on the board.

Russell Gardens voting will take place at village hall on 6 Tain Drive in Great Neck from noon to 9 p.m.

Lake Success Deputy Mayor Gene Kaplan and Trustees Lawrence Farkas and Marian Lee are all running unopposed for re-election to the board. Each candidate will serve another two years on the board if re-elected.

Voting will be held at the community building on 318 Lakeville Road from noon to 9:00 p.m.
