
A Valley Stream man was arrested at Mineola’s NYU Langone hospital Monday after getting into a verbal argument, refusing to leave the hospital, resisting arrest, injuring two officers and being tased by Nassau County police, they said.
According to police, Christopher Piccoli, 37, had a verbal argument with a woman at the hospital and refused to leave the premises.
Officers then attempted to take Piccoli into custody, but Nassau County police said he “resisted and refused to comply with verbal commands.” Officers then tased Piccoli and took him into custody.
Piccoli was transported to a hospital for evaluation.
He was charged with two counts of assault, criminal trespassing and resisting arrest, the Nassau police said. Piccoli was arraigned Tuesday at the First District Court in Hempstead.
Nassau police said that two officers were injured during the arrest due to Piccoli being “violent and combative.” The officers were also taken to a hospital for treatment.
