
Four unknown individuals are being sought by police after attempting to break into a Roslyn Heights home early Friday morning, Nassau County Police reported.
According to detectives, a 51-year-old woman was awakend by a notification on her ring camera app that indicated there was movement on her driveway at about 4 a.m. She then saw that there were four individuals in the rear of her home on Field Lane.
The woman began banging on her bedroom window to catch their attention, which led to them fleeing towards Club Drive in a black SUV, police said.
Police said their investigation found the four individuals had attempted to open a 2020 white Mercedes truck in front of the home but that it was locked. The group then entered the backyard of the home and tried to enter through the back door.
Their attempts to enter the truck and the home were unsuccessful, police said.
The Nassau County Police Department is asking for any information individuals may have about the event. Individuals can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS or 911 to report any information. All callers will remain anonymous.
The Police Department also reminded residents to lock their cars and their homes to prevent crimes of this nature.
