Two men exiting the Nordstrom at Roosevelt Field Mall in Garden City shot at two individuals also leaving the store on Wednesday night, shattering doors but injuring no one, according to the Nassau County Police Department.

Police said they received a 911 call informing them of a shooting taking place on the second floor of the Nordstroms just after 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

The two men, described as having an average build in all black clothing with masks, engaged in a verbal argument with a man and a woman, the two people the shots were close to hitting, the police said.

One of the men, officials said, possessed a handgun and fired three rounds at the man and woman who were leaving the store.

Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder said at a news conference following the incident that there were no injuries during the shooting.

Detective Michael Bitsko said the shots shattered the glass doors of the Nordstrom and the two men drove off after they discharged their rounds.

Ryder initially said the two men left the scene in a Mercedes with New Jersey license plates, but an updated release said the two fled in separate black, four-door sedans.
