Nature’s Remedy Pharmacy has opened its doors on Manhasset’s Plandome Road, offering a cross-section of modern pharmaceutical services with old-fashioned values.
“We’re just super excited to be in Manhasset,” owner Sandra Telesmanic said. “We love what we do. I have a fantastic staff that really treats every patient like family. I think that’s what a lot of people notice is that we really do care. We treat every patient like my own parents or grandparents.”
Nature’s Remedy, located at 588 Plandome Road, is a full-service retail pharmacy that sells a variety of prescriptions, over-the-counter products, vitamins, supplements and cosmetics in person and via delivery. Telesmanic described it as the intersection of Whole Foods and Sephora.
“We can service them just like Rite Aid or CVS or Walgreens but provide them with the added benefit of getting the supplements that they may have to go to Whole Foods for or order online,” Telesmanic said.
Nature’s Remedy also provides free home deliveries, telehealth services, medication synchronization programs, chronic disease management and medication therapy.
Telesmanic said she finds inspiration from European pharmacies that offer a curated selection of products with a bright and clean aesthetic.
She curates her products and spends endless amounts of time on research to vet them before bringing them in.
Telesmanic has been a pharmacist for 24 years, working in an array of pharmaceutical areas including hospitals and closed-door pharmacies, which service long-term care facilities.
But retail pharmacy was an unventured pursuit for Telesmanic until she took ownership of Nature’s Remedy in Great Neck five years ago.
But Telesmanic outgrew her Great Neck space, setting the stage for her move to Manhasset in a larger retail store with parking on its main drag.
Telesmanic, a Port Washington resident, is the sole owner of Nature’s Remedy but operates it as a family business with her husband aiding as her accountant and their children helping, too.
Nature’s Remedy offers a holistic array of products, which Telesmanic described as functional medicine that works to treat individuals as a whole.
“When I’m actually looking at the patient, I’m trying to look at where can we help them nutritionally, how can we help them on the supplement side,” Telesmanic said.
Telesmanic said they seek to cater to the needs of the patient, letting them choose whether they want to take a homeopathic direction or a traditional pharmaceutical one when getting medical care.
“I try to meet the patient where they are and take it from there,” Telesmanic said. “I just like having the option where they can go either way.”
Telesmanic pulls from a diverse selection of medical practices, combining both Eastern and Western medicine as well as natural and traditional pharmaceuticals.
“We have a little bit of everything for everyone as well as everything you’ll find in a regular pharmacy,” Telesmanic said.
With about a month since opening, Telesmanic said Nature’s Remedy has been received well by the community but is seeking to expand its reach even more.
Telesmanic said she hopes to expand the pharmacy’s services in the future, such as offering vaccinations.
