A Manorhaven man was arrested Tuesday afternoon for stabbing his mother and sister during a domestic dispute, according to Nassau County Police.
Timothy Ibanez, 44, allegedly had a verbal argument at a Kirkwood Road residence with his mother, 75, and sister, 41. The situation escalated when Ibanez punched both victims multiple times and stabbed them with a knife, police said.
His mother was stabbed once in her left arm, and his sister was stabbed multiple times throughout her body. Both were treated at a local hospital and are in stable condition, according to police.
Ibanez allegedly held both victims in the home for more than an hour until they escaped to a neighbor’s home and called 911. Ibanez was arrested shortly after when found in the home where the incident occurred.
Ibanez is being charged with two counts of first-degree unlawful imprisonment, two counts of second-degree attempted murder and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
Ibanez was arraigned Wednesday at the Nassau County First District Court where his case was adjourned and a temporary order of protection was issued. He is due in court again Friday.
