After no candidate filed for Baxter Estate’s village justice position, Corey Worcester was elected Tuesday night through 23 write-in votes.
Three Port Washington villages held elections Tuesday night, including Baxter Estates, Flower Hill and Port Washington North.
The Village of Baxter Estates voted for two trustees and a village justice.
Village Justice Elizabeth S. Kase did not seek re-election after 13 years.
Another newcomer joining the village will be Alex Price, who won with 56 votes. Price will be replacing Trustee Jeffrey Eluto who did not seek re-election.
Also elected was Trustee Alice M. Peckelis, who will serve another two-year term on the board. She won with 57 votes.
Peckelis was appointed to Baxter Estate’s Board of Trustees in 2007 to fill a vacancy and has been serving on the board since.
Flower Hill’s incumbents Mayor Randall Rosenbaum, Trustee Claire Dorfman, Trustee Gary Lewandowski, Trustee Arthur “AJ” Smith and Village Justice Dennis Reisman were all re-elected.
Rosenbaum won with 61 votes. Trustee Dorfman received 62 votes, Lewandowski received 61 and Smith received 63. Village Justice Reisman was re-elected with 62 votes.
The mayor’s position also received one write-in candidate vote, and two write-in votes came in for the village justice position.
Rosenbaum was first elected as Flower Hill’s mayor in 2022, replacing former Mayor Brian Herrington in an uncontested election.
Before being elected mayor, Rosenbaum served as a deputy mayor, trustee and a member of the zoning board.
This was Smith’s first election after coming onto the board last May to fill a vacancy.
The Village of Port Washington North also voted to re-elect Trustees Steven Cohen and Michael Malatino for two-year terms.
Cohen received 72 votes while Malatino received 80.
